About Denise Wagner
Denise Wagner paints and photographs the disappearing beauty of the natural world around her.
I have been an artist and photographer for over thirty years. I graduated with honors in 1991 from Penn State University, majoring in Fine Art and Biology.
I worked as a digital Scientific Illustrator and photographer for Penn State University.
I have been a long-time volunteer at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center, creating a series of Birds of Prey paintings, wildlife and flower painting demonstrations, teaching photography and art workshops, and designing web pages, brochures, and art for their newsletter.
I also donated a painting titled "Snuggle Up" to Centre County's Pennsylvania Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), for their annual Fur Ball.
I also contribute artwork or photographs to Centre Wildlife Care for their annual “Wild About Animals" event.
My acrylic work "Dinchers Roadside" was part of an exhibition at Penn State Hershey.
I have been in shows given by the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society at the Gamble Mill Restaurant in Bellefonte, Pa, Art Alliance of Central Pa, Foxdale Village Art Gallery, and the Bellefonte Art Museum.
I am also a member of the Farmland Preservation Artists. I paint vanishing pastoral, woodland, and farmland scenes.
One of my favorite mediums is acrylic. I use it to paint raptors, wetland birds, and songbirds.
I also paint landscapes and animals in pastel. I enjoy the rich colors and quickness of the medium.
I accept commissions.
